General information
Due to the entry into force of the relevant modification of the "Law on Information Society Services" (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the express consent of the user of all websites that use non-essential cookies before they can browse them.
What are cookies?
Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels, are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, as well as to ensure the proper functioning of the site.
By using these devices, the web server is allowed to remember certain data about the user, such as their preferences for viewing pages on that server, username and password, products of most interest to them, etc.
Cookies affected by the regulation and exempt cookies
According to the EU directive, the cookies that require the informed consent of the user are those for analytics, advertising, and affiliation, while cookies of a technical nature and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.
What types of cookies are there?
According to ownership
- Own cookies: These are sent to the user’s device from a system or domain managed by the editor and from which the requested service is provided to the user.
- Third-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s device from a system or domain not managed by the editor but by another entity that processes the data obtained through cookies.
According to their duration
- Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website.
- Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie manager, which can range from a few minutes to several years.
According to functionality
- Necessary cookies: These are essential for the proper functioning of the website. They do not collect any user data and only store information such as language preferences, whether the cookie policy has been accepted, etc.
- Analytics cookies: These, whether processed by us or third parties, allow us to quantify the number of users and thus perform statistical analysis of the use made by users of the services provided. To do this, user navigation is analyzed on our website to improve the range of products or services we offer.
- Advertising or marketing cookies: These allow the management, in the most effective way possible, of the advertising spaces that, if applicable, the editor has included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as edited content or how frequently ads are displayed.
- Behavioral advertising or personalized marketing cookies: These allow the management, in the most effective way possible, of the advertising spaces that, if applicable, the editor has included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information on user behavior obtained through continuous observation of their browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on it. Similarly, when visiting a website or opening an email where an ad or promotion about our products or services is published, a cookie may be installed in your browser to later show you related advertising based on your previous search, develop control over our ads regarding, for example, the number of times they are viewed, where they appear, what time they are seen, etc.
