It is one of the most impressive and accessible of all the caves of Viñales, is the Cueva del Indio. This cave was originated about 5 million years ago by the waters of the San Vicente River. It has an extension of about 4 km although only one of them is open to the public. Inside, apart from its curious stalactites and stalagmites, cave paintings and remains of utensils from pre-Columbian Cuban cultures have been found.

The Mural of Prehistory, one of the largest open-air frescoes on the planet, located in the Dos Hermanas Valley Represents the region's biogeological past, considered one of the oldest lands in the Caribbean. which is painted in one of the stone elevations. The Mural of Prehistory was created in 1959 by the painter Leovigildo González Morillo, scientist and director of Cartography at the Academy of Sciences of Cuba, student of the outstanding Mexican muralist Diego Rivera.
