Nestled in a natural setting within the Sierra Cristal mountain range, at the foothills of Mícara Mountain, in the Segundo Frente municipality of Santiago de Cuba province, the Hotel Horizontes Segundo Frente was built in harmony with its natural surroundings and enjoys a privileged position within the mountain massif. It is located very close to the monument that holds the remains of the fallen fighters from the Segundo Frente Oriental “Frank País” during the final phase of the struggle. As part of the architectural complex of the Mausoleum, there is a museum whose grounds include the original facilities that served as the headquarters of the Central Command of the Segundo Frente during the guerrilla conflict between August and December 1958. The four-star Hotel Horizontes Segundo Frente, built in just six months, blends the most authentic rural traditions with the comfort of modern hotels. The hotel features 52 one- and two-story rooms, including three high-standard suites with a pool and jacuzzi, along with dining services, a gym, a sports court, a party hall, and a shop. The hotel also offers horseback riding and hiking activities for guests. Additionally, the facility includes a house that recreates the life of Cuban farmers, where visitors can become familiar with the habits of the local mountain inhabitants.
